So much excitement it was just like yesterday on Jan. 21, 1976 when BA flew G-BOAA to BAH and AFR flew F-BVFA for the first paying passengers to Dakar. Everybody here in the States was so excited about the prospects of flight to the UK in less than 4 hours, faster than the sun, and faster than the speed of sound. Of course, a few naysayers complained about the sonic boom and the ozone, and prevented her from entering US airspace until Nov. 1977. Now, just a wonderful memory. Happy 40th Anniversary, Speedbird.
