My "Singapore" Concorde "Alpha-Delta" looks well aboard the Intrepid pier except for some minor paint peeling near her undercarriage. We noticed her tires above the platform slightly as a safeguard so she cannot roll away in strong winds. She seems very secure but lonely. We are trying to secure a retired US Space Shuttle to keep her company on the pier. There is a petition to help obtain the Shuttle at www.intrepidmuseum.org. NASA only has 3 Shuttles to donate and 1 was promised to the Smithsonian in Washington already. Wouldn't it be nice to visit both the Shuttle as well as the Concorde? It would also enhance interest in the Concorde's history by the youngsters who would visit and sadly know little about our magnificent Concorde!
