Does anyone know which Concordes flew in this formation? I found the end of the video -- where they all broke off -- to be one of the best parts of the video.

What video is this from? It appears to be part of a documentary. It would be interesting to see the whole process. Yes, the break away is spectacular.

Not sure if that is from a documentary but I'd seen it before.
What I wonder about is whether there is a movie or video of a Concorde doing a barrel roll still hidden somewhere in an archive.... Now that would be a true find.... CJ |

What a Find | ||

Only just seen this, wow what a find. I found I kept asking myself did it really happen ? And with John Hutchinson on commentary what a bonus. John offered to give a lecture to Brooklands Museum a while back, hope he does one day, as I would love to hear him talk about the tie-up with the other Concordes on that flight .....................

The breakaway made my day - what a great sight. I am guessing that other footage perhaps exists from the chase plane(s)?

boag97 wrote: Hiya, The clip is from the BBC. From an episode of Holiday Air. The Beeb used to do regular, occasional coverage of airshows, and the clip was broadcast in the show that covered the Biggin Hill airshow of 1986. (you can hear the throw back to Chris Searle, who was the host on the ground for the event). John Hutchinson was a regular on/in the series. Approaches were made to the BBC a few years ago with regards to this and other footage which is known they hold, but nothing was forthcoming at the time. Fingers crossed for it turning up as their archives are digitised and opened to all. "In cyberspace, sometimes your cries are heard" |

Does that footage include the St John Ambulance volunteer ticking Mr Searle off for sitting on a narrow ledge or something above a very sharp, spikey, fence of
the sort people often get impaled on?
If it does, I'd ,love a copy on DVD if it's made available. The said St John's man is my dad... :-) |
