A quote from various newspapers ..........................'Two others are staff of the supersonic jets maker Aerospatiale and the other is a civil aviation
official - all said to have IGNORED A HOST OF PROBLEMS'..................
Unfortunately there are people to this day that still have there heads in the sand/look the other way/in denial etc,etc From what i can recall, on a few threads on this forum there was intense and aggressive debate which accumulated in, riding roughshod, slagging off , insulting etc, etc mainly toward me. Now if those people would like to look back over those threads and this time grasp what was being stated they might be very surprised......... or not as the case is now...... I have absolutely no respect for the above mentioned staff whatsoever! |

I think it will be hard to pin anything on the design people, the a/c was designed and tested to agreed international standards.
Will be very interesting to hear the evidence that they come up with to prove their case. The only really serious incident before the accident was the incident at Washington, after which the case was found to be the wheel rims, which were strengthened and the tyre deflation system fitted. The incidents after this, although worrying were not massively significant. The AAIB was never even worry about the later incidents. |

There were many serious incidents before the banishment of remoulds and fitting of the flat tyre detection system and also after theses SB's were carried
out in which i was profesionally invloved in.
Incidently the flat tyre detection system on the FWD and AFT of the bogie only informs the crew of a definate flat tyre and not of a slow tyre deflation/damage. The detection system consists of strain gauges FWD and AFT of the bogie, the normal twists and strains that are present during taxy,take-off and landing are eliminated from the system, then the system is calibrated to only warn of a flat tyre. The various massive Mods on the legs included re-routing looms, hydraulic pipes, anti skid valves etc, etc were inadequate then and were pre- crash, eg covering hydraulic pipes with flimsy tin plate shrouds etc, etc. |

The transition to Yuku did not lose any posts but an aggrieved employee in May 2005 managed to delete almost everything! Many forums (fora) operated by Ezboard
were totally deleted by the vandal, and posts and sometimes whole threads were lost. The Concorde forum was not so badly hit as the Ezboard team could recover
regularly used threads.
Some of the earlier Paris disaster posts could have suffered similarly. |

Quote from quarterly FOCUS on commercial aviation safety magazine that does the rounds in the industry
'Almost exactly 10 years after the tragedy, employees of Continental Airlines Inc, the manufacture Aerospatiale and France's Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) are set to face criminal manslaughter charges for their role in the shortcomings which led to the Air France Concorde crash of July 2000, with the loss of 113 lives'. 'The Concorde trial, which is due to open in February 2010 in Paris is the culmination of a growing trend that seeks to apportion blame to individuals and organisations following major air disasters'. I honestly can't believe its taken that long! |

I wonder if we can alter the tile of this thread to reflect the fact that the trial will begin in February 2010 and not in 'x' months - a time period
that rapidly becomes more and more inaccurate!
