More info:
1984 also saw the unveiling of a new corporate identity designed by Californian company Landor. The livery became known as the 'Landor' Livery. It featured a midnight blue underside and engines and a grey for the upper fuselage and tail. The familiar Union Jack remained on the tail but the upper part was blue and featured a heraldic crest with the motto 'To Fly To Serve'. A red speedwing stripe was added along the lower fuselage and the titles featured the airlines full name again. |

Neil, Any photos? The description certainly does NOT match what we know as the Concorde Landor livery. |

Christiaan common sense here,Conc was always white even in Negus Negus. The text is a genral spec for the vast majority of the fleet (subsonic).Just like the
Uopia livery change in 1997 Conc retained all over white without blue belly and wings and did not have the ethnic tail logos.

Neil,
"Christiaan, common sense here, Conc was always white. The text is a general spec for the vast majority of the fleet (subsonic)." Sure, and my remark was strictly tongue in cheek... But I thought you were sure to have a nice link to a picture of one of the old subsonic "huffers and puffers" in that livery. |

The Final Colour Scheme of British Caledonian was Similar to landor but instead of a Red Strip they had a Gold Stripe which looked Soo Special.
A BCAL 757 on Take of from FARO Gold Stipe and Lion on Tail but other wise it"s Landor Scheme.

I remember in Dec 1984, when after months of speculation, the Landor livery was finally revealed. A hangar in TBA at LHR, was converted with seating, visual
displays, but much of the hangar was in darkness. After a short introduction, lots of rousing stuff about BEA/BOAC/BA history, the lights went on and a 737-200
in the new livery was revealed. As well as some ground vehicles. I have to say the livery left me a bit cold, perhaps due to all the hype before. I found the
gray upper fuselage insipid, the faux crest of the tail a bit odd. One commentator reckoned it looked more like the logo for a brand of Cigarettes, (pointing
out Landor had done just that at the same time for a Mexican tobacco company). After a few months, that crest on the tail was greatly enlarged, so you could
actually see it. But - the white Landor for Concorde looked brilliant, the best one it had IMHO, the 'Speedwing' looked appropriate for the SST. That
was revealed, as many here will know, on G-BOAG's return to service in April 1985, along with the first major cabin upgrade, including the Marilake
displays. This was revealed in a special BA News edition, (which I still kick myself for not having kept).
