2nd Old Windsor Brownies and their tribute to Concorde, August 1978
I found this picture the other day! I am sure the children had fun building their tribute to Concorde.
On a more serious note, it does reflect public opinion at the time and the great pride that most people showed in the aircraft. It seems that the noise Concorde made as it departed overhead several times a day didn't bother Old Windsor residents!
Was there any other aircraft that was so well liked...? The Spitfire and Windsor (and Brooklands) local hero, Sir Sydney Camm’s Hurricane could well be the only others.
