A few bits to report on on going progress.

First of all we got the differential toe brakes working. This is a picture of the mechanism; there are 2 sets of cables for the left and right brakes. These now go over a wheel o they are a constant cable. The cables are then attached to two 10K 60mm sliding potentiometers that connect into the Phidget systems in the cockpit.

Concorde Simulator publicity

Looks like the museum are doing some publicity for the sim. On my way home from work this afternoon there was a little piece after the 4:30 news on LBC (London based radio station) advertising the Brooklands Museum simulator experience for "aviation enthusiasts". The only slight niggles were that no contact details were given for the museum (the web address would have been a good idea at least) and the sim was described as being "the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPlHzFMz9Bc

PC Pilot magazine has an article on Brooklands & the Concorde simulator in it this month. they've also written about the 2 different version s of the Concorde package for FS9. nothing for FSX yet! Andrew I can't wait much longer

I had stuff planned for Saturday that was to keep me away from the museum but this has been Scrubbed so i will be in to Sort out exactly which Boxes we Still have on the Rack in the Storage area and where I can fit them if at all inside DG.

DG Saturday 25th July

Today a lot of work was Completed on the Outer Wings Shame my New Video Camera decided to Format the Card while i was using it?!?!?!?!?!

In the Flight Deck(Cockpit Area) of DG I installed the Pitot Boxes thanks to the Perspex Door having come of during the week, One with the Help of Addam helping me Carry it up the front Steps Heavy it was.

I also installed every Flight Computer (Blue Fronted Boxes) we have on-board DG even though some are not the Correct ones in the...

Simulator TCAS/VSI gauge testing

With a bit of work, I've been able to test the TCAS/VSI gauge from the simulator.

The gauge is multipurpose for legacy aircraft, so can be configured to work in many modes. Here is is set up to work as a VSI only gauge with the TCAS functionality disabled.

Its is fed with a positive and negative 12V reference signals, then a drive signal between these 2 voltages gives a reading....simple!

There are a few more tasks going on in the simulator, but these gauges...

Concorde 'Walk throughs'

I was chatting to to someone who hadn't been to Brooklands for years, he asked me about the 'Concorde experience " Is it just a walk through like Duxford?" he asked. I explained all about it and that the simulator was being added to it.
On Thursday I 'walked through' at Duxford as about 20 kids ran through. The pained expression on the volunteers face said all.

Well, not quite, but I was delighted to be able to lend a hand at Brooklands today for the first time in a long time!

The plan was to give the carpet in the back cabin a good shampooing, polish the perspex installed in the little middle cabin to protect the seats and memorabilia, and to generally dust the displays. In the forward cabin the team installed the original Concorde carpet, kindly donated by Jimmy Webb...
