When were B744s switched to B777s to JFK ?

For decades, the daily British Airways flights from LHR to JFK were always B744s. Now, I notice that except for the night flight, they have all been replaced by B777s. I was unaware of this change but I saw it coming as I heard that the airline was cutting back. Qantas which has only 1 daily flight into JFK will also stop flying their B744s into JFK and replace with an Airbus starting in January. After the Concorde, my favourite aircraft is the B744 and soon only cargo flights will be seen...

OOPS SLBM Test Launch Goes wrong.

Looks like a Test Launch of a Russian SLBM whent a Bit Whako and was visible hi over Northern Norway.

A Notam / NO Fly Warning was Issued for the White Sea before the Test Launch.

Ice Fall?

On friday last week ( 4th ) I was at Richmond railway station and while waiting for a train I was observing the approaching aircraft.

At 10.53, I saw something bright and white apparently detach from the rear of a United 777; whatever this was it fell straight down picking up speed as it did so. The aircraft would have been roughly 3 - 4 miles east of Richmond at the time.

Is there any way of finding out if an ice fall was reported in the area at the time?

So far the reports don't say what type it is, but the seating capacity combined with the obvious point that it'll be an "end of life" product implies an A300?
